From our first approach, Jeremy was very attentive. Given that we would still live in the house whilst the work was going on, we had many anxieties about the job which was going to be a major undertaking for us. He was very reassuring, he allayed many of our worries and made many suggestions as only an engineer with experience can do. We walked/talked through the whole job and within a week/10 days, we had a detailed costing for all the services that were needed to complete the work and estimates where exact pricing was not available – ie external insulation and plumbing. Jeremy drew up a time-line for the work, giving the amount of time that was estimated for each particular job and how & where they dovetailed together so it was easy to see what was going to be done at any particular time. Thus there were no surprises and we could plan our decisions for each stage of the work – ie choosing colours for the painter, flooring for the carpenters, location of light switches/power points etc. This made it much less stressful for us. Jeremy has a very good eye for detail and was able to supervise/inspect the contracted suppliers on a daily basis and if any changes were to be made, he was able to clearly explain, give choices and solutions to unexpected issues. He kept a good account of work, hours done and also provided a payment schedule for suppliers, again so that we would know who was to be paid and when. Jeremy was always available by phone to answer any queries and dealt very professionally with us and also with his contractors on site.
He has excellent contacts with suppliers and was able to ensure that deliveries came on time and that every thing happened when it should do, no stopping and starting, delays etc. It was a seamless job from beginning to end, very professionally handled and I would have no hesitation in saying that without Jeremy project managing the work, it would have been difficult and very stressful and we certainly would not have it completed to the standard that we have in our home today and particularly within the budget that we had allowed for the work without his input/direction. Our home is less draughty, less expensive to heat, warmer and very much more comfortable.
We engaged Jeremy Walsh as a project manager for a house we renovated in Kenmare during 2009. It was a complicated job involving almost a complete refurbishment. We were very satisfied with Jeremy, he gave excellent attention to the project, supervised the work, provided ideas on structural issues and liaised well with workers. He also supported us in decision making and liaising with the architect.
